What we're looking for

Our client is a leading unified communications provider in Europe with offices in multiple countries.

Our client is looking to hire a Site Reliability Engineer (€55K - €60K p.a.) based in Spain. The client’s office is in Malaga but open to all candidates that reside in Spain as the client is fully remote.

The SRE will help to design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable solutions. Someone who can help our client with the transition of implementing the site reliability engineering discipline in their organisation.

This position is not available to candidates seeking a work permit or sponsorship visa to work in Spain.

As a member of the client’s international operations team, one of your primary tasks is to keep the client’s web application up and running. The SRE will manage the infrastructure, from development to production, including web servers, script servers, database servers, load balancers and much more.

You will collect information from different development teams and coordinate with them regarding bigger infrastructure changes.

You plan the capacity of the platform and carry out upgrades. And of course, you continuously try to improve the infrastructure and the processes.

  • Developing strategic design and requirements on small systems or modules of large systems.
  • Running the production environment by monitoring and maintaining the availability of existing applications and systems
  • Performing general application development activities, including code deployment to higher environments and technical documentation, code/processes so that any other team member is able to dive in with minimal effort
  • Managing security vulnerabilities of existing applications
  • Working on one or more projects, making contributions to unfamiliar code written by team members
  • Diagnosing and resolving performance issues
  • Participating in the estimation process, using case specifications, making reviews of test plans and test cases, and project planning
  • Introducing tools and automating repetitive processes
  • Establishing Service Level Objectives and Indicators (SLO & SLI) to strike a perfect balance between building new features and working on reliability


  • At least 2-3 years of experience in DevOps/SRE
  • Vast experience in designing, deploying, and scaling production environments
  • In-depth knowledge of the Linux Operating system at administrator level
  • Experience deploying infrastructure as a code (we use Ansible)
  • Experience with CI/CD methodology and tools (we use Drone for CI)
  • Extensive experience with Monitoring Solutions.
  • We currently use Zabbix, Grafana but also Prometheus for our Kubernetes services
  • Experience with scripting languages for scripting and automation such as Python and PHP
  • Experience using source control management tools like Git and associated processes like Pull Request, Rebase and release management flows like git-flow
  • Working knowledge of MySQL
  • Experience with Kubernetes is a plus
  • Experience in delivering multiple releases into production every week ensuring system stability
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach being able to identify problems based on incidents
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills
